Carole Everett
Carole Everett’s administrative career in independent schools includes college counseling, admissions and financial aid, diversity, development, external affairs, and head of school. Institutional affiliations include New York schools Birch Wathen, Calhoun, Nightingale-Bamford, and St. Luke’s in the Village, and the Good Hope School in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. She was the Director of Admissions at The Juilliard School and co-founder and co-director of the Spoleto Arts Symposia in Spoleto, Italy, an international program that offered opera master classes, and writing, jazz, and cooking programs.
A distinguished author, Carole’s first book, The Performing Art Major’s College Guide, went to three editions and was published in several languages. Carole’s board service includes The Episcopal New Yorker, Noodle.com, the Greenwich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Spoleto Arts Symposia Board, and the National Association of Independent School’s (NAIS) Commission on Accreditation.
Carole was appointed Executive Director of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS) in July 2010. She currently oversees all independent school accreditations within New Jersey and advises school administrators, heads, and boards on all aspects of school management and operations. An experienced accreditation chair in New York, Carole regularly presents to boards of a variety of non-profits.
Carole earned her bachelor’s degree cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University, and holds an advanced degree from the Universita di Siena, Italy. A mezzo-soprano, Carole has performed with opera companies and orchestras, and on recital tours around the world.
